Go to a hairstylist and have them use a mild chemical relaxer. It will stay straight longer than any other method. Then you will need to go about every two or three months to have the root area straightened.

Try using relaxers and don't use a normal brush. Use one of those combs that has the large space between the teeth.

You can do lots of things with your hair because it has natural body. (TOO MUCH) So you have to relax it.

perms would completely destroy ur hair especially if its vulnerable , i know my answer wont satisfy u but trust me this is the truth ,perms r just a no. of chemicals that would ruin ur hair by time , so if u want to leave ur hair loose then i would recommend u the chi ceramic iron straightener as being beautiful is hectic but its worth it hence it does not harm hair entirely . by the way u could be annoyed from ur hair type but if u concentrate in u , surely u would find something special in u so dont worry , hair isnt everything .

what you could do is after straightening your hair you put a little bit of this stuff called shine junky in your hands and run your hair through both palms it will make your hair smooth and shiney! worked for me!

well if you dont want to use a strightning iron on it every day then you can go to the salon an hevt it chemically straightned ..it is safe...if you do this then it will be stright an u wont need to iron it at all..the only thing is that you will have to go back to have it chemiclly straightned every 4-5 months

I have kinky curly hair and believe me when I say at times I hate it. I love when I strighten it I think it looks great. However be very careful. If you decide to straighten it at home with a straightener use a ceramic one, and try not to do it all the time it will fry your hair bad. I use VO5 hair serum, it comes in a brown and black tube, it works great . I don't know what type of curly hair you have but be sure to use something designed specifically for you. I am white with kinky kinky curly hair, whatever I use I have to make sure there is no alcohol in it whatsoever. Good Luck and let us know how it turns out.

I, too, have extremely dark, extremely curly hair. Only once in my life has it been straightened and this is how they did it:

They first washed it with a hydrating shampoo then followed up with a protein conditioner and hair serem. I waited 10 minutes then rinsed it all out.

Then, they towel dried my hair before taking a brush and hair dryer to it in order to straighten it out as far as they could.

Then, when I looked like a poodle thrown into a dryer, they took a CERAMIC hair flat iron and straightened it the rest of the way.

Afterwards, they put more serem in my hair to keep it from getting so frizzy.

CAUTION: Straightening your hair will cause it to be EXTREMELY fuzzy!!!!

I got it cut like that except with longer bangs so I could push them back when I wanted to and I absolutely love it. It looks great straight but its versatile enough to go back as long as you don't get it cut to short. If you need a good straightener, I suggest a ceramic one. And if you are going to straighten your hair all the time, be sure that you come in the salon with your hair straightened already and have them cut it dry. A very light perm. Don't go for the tightest, smallest rollers that they have...but lean towards the larger rollers. That way, you will have some bounce...but not the damage!!

You have to be careful with getting layers when you have curly hair. I had it done once and it was a mess and another time I had it done and that person had curly hair themself so they knew how to do it and they did a great job. Use a mouse then spray gel to help your curls be more tame.

You don't have to stop straightening as long as you use a shine serum like bio-silk to protect it from heat. You could also use a heat-protectant. Garnier Fructis and Herbel Essences make nice ones.

there's the website. I use it and have no problem with heat anymore! It's also got finishing products and such, and i think volumizing and deep conditioning products of it's own. It's really great! I use that and stuff from the herbal essences dangerously striaght line for styling. It's a dream!!

For the dry hair, get a packet of deep coniditiner (you can get a non-dying henna deep conditioner, those work nice) and leave it in for 15 mins.

its really good to stop straightening it i did it and only straightened it if i was going out out if you no what i mean.

every1 comments on how shiny it is now and stuff. the first thing i did was have the dryness at the ends cut off, this helped. go to i good hairstylist and they will give you a good cut so it will dry nice naturallyy.

i don't no if you do this already but wash every other day because then it gives time for your naturall oils to get down the hair.
